“IPA members have stood with me through my troubles with JCU. I couldn’t have mounted the legal challenge if I hadn’t had the support of Jennifer Marohasy and the IPA” – Dr Peter Ridd
Dr Ridd’s battle for integrity in science will not end today.
Following the High Court decision, Dr Ridd has accepted an invitation to join the IPA as a Research Fellow, without salary, to lead a newly established Project for Real Science. The Project’s aims are to improve science quality assurance, build on the IPA’s existing research programs, and to support academics speaking out for integrity in science and research.
To enable this vital Project the IPA needs your support to raise the $300,000 needed to fund the Project for Real Science. You can make a tax deductible donation to this important research today to make this Project possible.
The Project’s aims are to improve science quality assurance, build on the IPA’s existing research programs, and to support academics speaking out for integrity in science and research. Features include:
Reef Rebels: enabling young people to see in person the true state of the Great Barrier Reef, to pass the word on to their generation.
“Kamikaze Academics”: awards to honour academics who in the spirit of self sacrifice have risked their careers to improve the university and research system.
Reef Videos: Peter will host a series of videos about the Reef, covering the threats (real and imagined), and exposing examples of dubious science.
Exposing the Replication Crisis: Peter will host a video series delving into the scandalous situation that about half of peer-reviewed scientific reports and papers are likely to be wrong
Reef Science Audits: Through documentary films like “Beige Reef” the IPA’s Dr Jennifer Marohasy has demonstrated the poor state of official reef research. Peter will continue to support Jennifer on these projects.
